February 2008

 Connection to the Community

Spring is almost here! We are just about ready to kick-off our 2008 tournament season. We are still receiving an outpouring response for players and parents wanting to join the Wisconsin Wildcats Sports Organization. We still have a few openings on the following teams: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and the varsity boy’s teams and the girl’s 7th and varsity teams.  If you know of players who are interested in playing for the Wildcats, please have them to contact us at: 262.909.8255 or 262.635.8255 or 262.886.9492. We can also be contacted via email at: wiwso@yahoo.com, msrika1127@yahoo.com, or neuhausdale@hotmail.com.

We are pleased to say we had 13 Traveling AAU/Tournament Basketball Teams consisting of about 132 players under the Wisconsin Wildcats umbrella for our 2006 – 2007 season. Over the past 2 years our player fees have been $275; due to the rising cost of tournaments, gym rentals, and other expenses, we have to increase the 2008 player fees to $325 per player. For the $325, each player will still receive a uniform, team shoes, and a team bag. The tournament fees will also cover at least 4 – 6 tournaments. (Depending on each teams finances).  Beginning in March or April 2008, our goal is to compete in 2 tournaments a month. As in the previous years toward the end of the tournament season (June & July), we will compete in tournaments out of town. Last year our teams had the opportunity of traveling to Atlanta, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Southeastern Wisconsin. All player fees are to be paid in full by March 5, 2008 in order to participate in the upcoming season. All players need to turn in the following paperwork: player registration sheet, hold harmless agreement, and parental consent form. Along with this paperwork, we will need a copy of each player’s birth certificate, current report card, and a wallet size picture.

The Wildcats are excited to announce a new edition to our organization this year. Please join us in welcoming Coach Roman Blenski and the Oak Creek 9th grade Wildcats Blue Team aboard. Roman and his family are very excited about joining the Wildcats Family and being able to bring many new ideas for the 2008 season. The 9th grade Oak Creek Wildcats Blue Team will be holding tryouts on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 10302 S. 27th St., Oak Creek, WI 53154 (near 7 mile Rd. and I-94) from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

We would like to thank the many parents and volunteers for helping the Wisconsin Wildcats to fulfill their vision of changing our youth’s one game at a time and to set a precedence of higher standards and expectation for youth athletics within the community. We are looking for experienced and dedicated coaches, team parents, and general volunteers to assist in various duties for our 2008 tournament season. If you want to get involved with helping our youths in the community, please let us know. Being a volunteer is what keeps the organization going!
